Gibson makes the catch
Wide receiver/H-back Drew Gibson (6-2, 185, 4.6) from Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure was one of the reasons the Seraphs were able to prevail in the State Championship game and take home the crown in head coach Todd Therrien first year at the helm.
"Drew was the one who broke open the state championship game," Therrien said. "It was on a third and forever when he caught a 77-yarder for a touchdown. It was a seam route that he went up and got, then ran through two guys for the score.
Though Gibson played mostly H-back as a junior it is highly likely that he will see more action at wide receiver this coming fall.
Gibson earned all-league honors after hauling in 20 receptions for 275 yards and two touchdowns.
On the recruiting trail, Gibson he getting letters from mostly western schools.
"Most of the Pac 10 is showing interest in Drew," Therrien said. "Everyone who came by to see Darrell Scott and the rest of my seniors last January expressed interest in him.
