Auburn annually signs a player or two out of the state of Mississippi each year including two in 2008. The Tigers are again heavily involved with a number of Magnolia State prospects in the 2009 class including Batesville-South Panola defensive back David Conner.

Auburn offered Conner a couple of weeks ago.

“I was happy,” said Conner. “I’ve watched them play on T.V. and I love it. Their coach told me their defense isn’t too complicated so I could just go out there and react.”

Auburn assistant coach Hugh Nall recently stopped by South Panola to check on Conner.
