Hollomon has top five
Speedy running back Rob Hollomon has attracted the attention of numerous programs up and down the eastern seaboard and he hopes a steady camp schedule will help him pick up a few more offers.
The 5-foot-8, 160-pound back from Philadelphia (Pa.) West Catholic runs the 40-yard dash in 4.31 seconds, so speed is not an issue.
When West Catholic begins their spring practice on Tuesday, he knows what he has to work on.
"Well, it's really (been) like the offseason for me," Hollomon said. "I just need to work on my size and trying to get a little bigger and stronger. My speed and vision are all (good parts) of my game. I just want to add some strength to run through people, break some tackles and I think I'll be good."
Hollomon impressed college coaches with his junior season at West Catholic. It was a year that saw him carry the ball 120 times for 1,048 yards and 18 touchdowns, while he also racked up 415 receiving yards.
He's ready to name a top five, but it's one that may be subject to change.
"I'd say my favorites are UConn, North Carolina State, Rutgers, Pitt, and I'll probably go with Maryland," he said.
"I've been hearing from some Division I and Division I-AA programs like Akron, Villanova, Temple, UConn, Pitt, Rutgers and Buffalo. I believe I'm going to the Maryland camp, Villanova, FDU, Pitt, Connecticut, and I think I might go to Temple. I may go to a few more down south like North Carolina State and Clemson."
Hollomon also noted that several schools have sent coaches to West Catholic to visit him this spring.
