Scott piling up offers
One of the fastest rising prospects in the state of Texas sits in the talent riches of the DFW metroplex. Skyler Scott, who transferred from Laredo United to West Mesquite earlier this year, has seen his recruitment soar to new heights in the last few months.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder hauled in 40 receptions for 744 yards and 12 scores last season at United and reportedly has hauled in several offers from schools throughout the nation.
"I'm up to 26 offers now," Scott said. "I've got them from Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, TCU, Colorado and Colorado State. I have a lot that I can't remember right now. Everyone I talk to have either verbally offered or given a written one."
As in his last update, Scott says a Big 12 team currently holds the edge above others for his services.
"I like Kansas," he said. "I like them because they did real good last year."
Scott says although location is a factor he doesn't mind going too far to play ball.
"Location is a big factor," he said. "But, if I go away it's cool too."
With TCU hoping to land another big play receiver Scott definitely fit's the mold. While he admits he doesn't know much about the program he says he does have an interest.
"TCU has verbally offered me," he said. "I don't know much about them but I do have an interest in them."
Just like other prospects, Scott has plans to spend his summer out on the camp circuit but has yet to decide which ones he'll attend.
"I'm definitely going to some camps," Scott said. "I don't know which one's yet. There's a lot of schools that want me to come to their camps."
