Sleeper Lousiana linebacker talks A&M visit
Texas A&M is making a concerted effort to push into the borders of Louisiana in the 2009 recruiting class, especially on the defensive side of the ball. The Aggies hosted a pair of the Pelican State's top linebacker prospects on unofficial visits this week in Shreveport Byrd's Jonathan Stewart and New Iberia's Michael Lamothe.
While Stewart is a known commodity, holding close to 20 offers, the 6-foot-3, 215-pound Lamothe is a new name to the recruiting scene. However, the Aggies managed to find him during the spring evaluation period. A few other programs did as well.
"They offered me a few weeks ago," Lamothe said of A&M. "I have three others, too. Arkansas, Rice and Tulane have also offered me."
