Virginia LB looking for more offers
Ashland (VA) Patrick Henry linebacker Adrian Cavanaugh recently took a visit up north and visited Boston College and Syracuse. CuseConfidential spoke with the Virginia prospect about his time at Syracuse.
"I thought the visit to Syracuse was really good and I really enjoyed it. Syracuse was a nice place. I really liked the linebacker's coach, he was a good guy and he knew a lot about the sport and the position. The location I really liked it, it was not in a huge city, but it also was not to far from the city."
Cavanaugh, 5-foot-11, 210 pounds holds five offers right now, but at the Syracuse camp there was not much talk about the Orange extending an offer.
"They did not really say anything about an offer. They just said that they would be in touch. Coach Trivers my recruiting coach said that he would be in touch."
While the three star prospect was up at Syracuse he came away with a good feeling about the school.
"I think they have a great academic program and football wise it is a great school also. You get to play some good division one football at Syracuse."
Even though the Orange have not offered Cavanaugh remains very interested in the program.
"I would say my interest in Syracuse is between medium and high. I am interested in Syracuse, like really interested, but I do not have an offer."
Most schools are looking at Cavanaugh as a linebacker or safety and the Orange are no different as they want him to play outside linebacker. He also talked about what feels gives him an edge over other players at the same position.
"I am really aggressive and I work hard, I just don't stop. I have a good motor that just keeps running."
Other than Syracuse a handful of schools are showing interest in Cavanaugh.
"The five schools that I have offers from Richmond, Army, Navy, William & Mary, and Norfolk State are showing me interest. After that I am getting interest from Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Syracuse, James Madison, and Delaware."
Have any of those schools talked with the prospect about offering?
"James Madison has talked a little bit about offering and then Tennessee. I am taking a trip to Tennessee next week and we will see how that goes."
A decision is not expected soon from Cavanaugh because he wants to make sure he finds the right fit.
"I have not thought about a decision. I am just waiting to see what I have and evaluating what I have. I do not have any set date for when I want to make a decision."
