In-state rivals tug for Boffeli

Conor Boffeli's game has not gotten the same attention out-of-state that it has in Iowa, but that suits the Des Moines native just fine. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Boffeli is considering offers from the two BCS conference programs in-state with a decision on the horizon.

Iowa State was the first program to offer Boffeli a scholarship, doing so early in the process. The Iowa Hawkeyes followed the Cyclones lead in June with an offer of their own. Other schools out-of-state have shown interest, but those are his only two offers and the only two programs at this time under serious consideration.

"Iowa and Iowa State are 1-2, not in any order," Boffeli said. "I am still trying to make my mind up between the two. I'm pretty sure I want to go to either one of those schools."

Boffeli's goal is to have his decision done before the start of his senior football season and while his mind goes back and forth between the two schools, the picture may be getting a little clearer.

"I'd say it is a tug-of-war but I am kind of leaning towards one school right now. I think I'd rather keep that private right now," Boffeli said. "I still have to talk it over with my family. I have a really big lists of pros and cons at my house and we've been writing those down so I make sure I make the right decision."
