Hard work paying off for Barrera
Since committing to Texas A&M at a junior day in mid-February, Houston Clear Lake's Stephen Barrera has been quietly going about his business, preparing for his senior season.
Although projected as an offensive tackle in college, the 6-foot-5, 290-pound three-star prospect plays on the defensive side of the ball for the Falcons. Even though he has his commitment out of the way, Barrera is not resting on his laurels. His summer has been a busy one so far, including some pretty intense workouts.
"I've been going to the school every day for the summer camps but also I've been going to my chiropractor who has me doing the P90X thing," he said. "That workout is no joke. That's the real deal. I'll be there around 6:30 in the morning and I'll do that for an hour. Then, the camps start around eight. I'll go there and finish around 9:30.
