Big TE takes in FAU game
One of the many visitors to watch FAU's 49-34 victory over Alabama-Birmingham was Jonathan Wallace. Wallace is a 6 foot 7, 220-pound tight end from Jacksonville Robert E. Lee High School.
"Coach Frost came up to our spring practice and he has been sending me letters," said Wallace. "He invited me down for the game so I came with my teammate, Tramell Williams."
What other schools are you hearing from?
"Besides FAU, I am hearing from the Citadel, Rutgers, and South Florida."
Did you get to talk to any of the coaches?
"Yes, I talked to Coach Frost, the tight end coach, the assistant head coach and Matt the recruiting coordinator. They want me to send them some game film and in a couple weeks a coach will be up to watch a game."
How did you do in your season opener?
"We won 16-13 over Terry Parker. They have one of the top linebackers in the state, Sam Barrington. I was blocking him all night."
Wallace said last fall he had 15 catches for about 270 yards. He is also a left handed pitcher on the baseball team and may look to also play baseball in college.
