Russell Byrd emerged as one of Michigan State's Plan A recruiting targets for the Class of 2010 after an outstanding summer with Blessed IJN.

Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo and his assistant coaches trailed Byrd across the country this summer. And they are still on the trail of the talented sharpshooter from Ft. Wayne this fall.
