Robert Clay off to a fast start in 2008

CrimsonIllustrated.com New Bruanfels Canyon's running back Robert Clay, who recently verbally committed to New Mexico State and coach Hal Mumme is off to running start in 2008. The senior running back is tearing it up in the central-Texas prep scene coming off a monster game on some spectacular runs this past Friday night.
The Cougar star running back amassed a whopping 289 yards in rushing and scored 3 touchdowns his last game out against the Pflugerville Hawks.
Clay, who last season rushed for 1,267 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior, is off to a fast start this season averaging an impressive 9.46 yards per carry on 41 attempts for 388 yards after 3 games.
In his last outing, Clay's spectacular runs consisted of touchdown runs of 49, 76, and 59 yards. Clay was clocked in his time trials last season in track and field of having 11.24 speed in the 100-meter dash and currently possesses 4.43 speed in the forty-yard dash.
The 5'10", 185-lb. senior gave his verbal commitment to the Aggies back on September 8th. Clay was also considering SMU, TCU, and UTEP.
