Three-star RB holds five offers
After a run to the Georgia 3A State Championship game in 2007, Cairo (Ga.) High School is looking to take it one game further and win the whole thing in 2008. It has a good shot at that kind of success as the Syrupmakers return loads of talented seniors including running back Reginald Bryant.
As a junior, Bryant rushed for 1,644 yards and 27 touchdowns. His senior year, he is picking up right where he left off.
"Our first two games were rivalry games against Thomas County Central and the Thomasville Bulldogs," Bryant said. "Against Thomas County Central I had 17 carries for 150 yards and two touchdowns. Against Thomasville, I had 12 carries for 90 yards."
More importantly, Bryant and his teammates came away with wins in both contests.
"We are 2-0 right now," he said. "We're still working on everything trying to finish what we started last year. We got to the championship game last year. We got most of the guys coming back. We've got 27 seniors on the team. Most of the seniors are players."
Bryant currently holds offers from UAB, Ohio, Middle Tennessee, Georgia Tech and North Carolina. However, he does not yet have any favorites in the process.
"Every school that offered me, I like them all, because they're able to give me an opportunity to play for them," he said. "I'm not leaning to any one harder than the other because they've all offered me a good opportunity."
Though the 5-foot-11, 205 pound back doesn't have any official visits set up, he has been and will continue to be travelling pretty regularly, catching football weekends all over the region.
"Sooner or later I'll be taking my visits," he said. "I'm trying to find out where I want to visit. I've been going to a lot of college games lately. I went to UCF and USF and I went down to see Florida State and this weekend I'm going down to see Georgia Tech.
"Pretty much I'm there to look at the campus and everything because I am going to have to make a decision about where I want to be. But I am mainly there because I'm a fan of football and I like going to college games."
