2010 ATH hearing from five
Ja'Quan Burchette is proving himself to be a many of many talents on the football field for Richmond (Va.) Highland Springs this year.
The 5-foot-11, 204-pound athlete has run the 40-yard dash in 4.67 seconds and is hearing from schools five schools.
Burchette's only problem at this point is he's not sure what position he'll be lining up at on the college level. Right now he's doing a little bit of everything for Highlight Springs.
"Our season is going well," he said. "We've got a lot to prove. I feel like we've got a lot to work on. I think I've improved my speed a lot since last season. They've moved me to wide receiver but I'm still playing quarterback, too."
Burchette said he also spends time at fullback and tight end, depending on what each particular game demands.
While he hasn't spoken to any coaches yet he's been receiving plenty of mail from five different schools. Some are close to home and some are on the other side of the continent.
"I've been getting mail from Oregon, Wake Forest, Stanford, West Virginia and and Virginia," he explained. "I don't really have a favorite or a group of favorites right now. I just haven't got to that point in the recruiting process.
"I don't know about visits yet because I haven't really talked to anybody. Virginia wanted me to contact them but I haven't done that yet."
Burchette attended a camp at James Madison with his teammates over the summer but will likely attend more events next summer.
