Three-star WR has a top three
Barton Simmons
Rivals.com Football Recruiting The 2008 season didn't begin the way Lancaster High School expected it to after opening up 50 a 1-3 start. However since then, things have been clicking and Lancaster is undefeated where it counts: in district play. The Tigers have won three straight to improve to 4-3 and a big reason for their success has been senior wide receiver Skyler Scott.
"We just had to get used to each other I guess but now we've just been rolling," Scott said of his team's start. "We're getting everybody the on the ball. It just seems like everything has been connecting. I've been doing pretty good. I don't know what my stats are but I've been doing pretty good."
Scott transferred in to Lancaster this fall from North Mesquite High School and has seen the move pay off so far.
"I'm pretty happy with it," he said. "My family, they're happy with it too because that's what they wanted."
On the recruiting trail, Scott is a popular figure. At 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, Scott is a big target with good speed and ball skills and he is gaining interest from schools all over the Big 12. Among those schools, Scott currently has a top three.
"Missouri, Kansas and Baylor are my top three," he said. "I just like them a lot. We just talk a lot so I'm basing it off of that."
This weekend Lancaster will be having its bye week, allowing Scott a potential opportunity to go on his first official visit.
"I think I'm taking an official visit this weekend because it's our bye week," he said. "I'm probably going to Kansas State. I'm excited about it. I'm going to be looking at the facilities and stuff and I'm excited about meeting the coaches and players."
Don't expect a decision any time soon from Scott. He will listed highly on numerous recruiting boards and coaches look to be giving him all the time he needs to make a decision and he expects to use most of that time.
"I'm think I'm going to wait until after the season (to make a decision) because all of the coaches that I've been talking to tell me that if I wait until February they'll still take me."
