Trail a freak of nature
One of the State of Florida's top 2010 prospects is Lynden Trail of Miami Booker T. Washington High School. The 6 foot 7, 210-pound defensive end just recently picked up his third offer.
"I got a scholarship offer from FIU the other day," said Trail. "The tight end coach called me and they watched the Northwestern game. He was talking about the play against Daquan Hargrett where I chased him down the sideline. He told me I am a freak of nature. He had never seen someone so agile for my position."
Trail just recently moved to defensive end from wide receiver.
"During the spring we did a tackling drill where the offensive players went to defense. I was in on every tackle so I moved to defensive end and have been there ever since."
How do you like playing defense now?
"Defense end is cool, it's different that receiver. Being a three sport athlete playing d-end comes natural to me with being able to get off the ball."
What other schools have offered?
"The Florida Gators and the University of South Florida have both offered."
Did you have any favorite schools growing up?
"Of course the Miami Hurricanes, but they have disappointed me because I have not even received a letter from them. I don't get discourage though they are the hometown team and I have one more year."
Trail is looking to take an unofficial visit to the University of Florida for a game later this fall.
Miami Booker T. Washington has a big district showdown this Friday against Hallandale. It will be an interesting match up as Trail will go against FIU commit offensive tackle Derek Wimberly of Hallandale.
