Wright wants to remain at linebacker
Logan Lowery
BulldogBlitz.com K.J. Wright's redshirt was removed three games into the 2007 season and the freshman linebacker was pressed into action.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder was not surprised by the decision and believes it has helped him raise his level of play this year.
"When I came into college I expected to play," Wright said. "I came in and played so it was no pressure this year."
After making only seven tackles a year ago as a reserve linebacker and special teamer, Wright has stepped up to start all nine games for the Bulldogs and is currently second on the team with 47 tackles this season as a sophomore.
"So far, I am pretty satisfied with my season," Wright said. "I've reached my goals by being in the top three in tackling. I still want to get that sack record but so far it's good. I know that I can improve so I'm going to strive to do that."
Wright said the linebackers took a hit when Jamar Chaney was lost for the season after a leg injury during the opener at Louisiana Tech.
