Colton (Calif.) junior safety Derrick Malone had his season end last Friday, but his future as a recruit may have just begun.

With USC assistant coach David Watson watching from the sidelines, Malone introduced himself to the evaluation process with a bang.

Playing against CIF Central Division No. 1 seed Rancho Cucamonga, Malone landed a hit on junior tight end Randall Telfer that echoed throughout the stadium.
