Henderson sees season end earlier than hoped
Defensive tackle Chris Henderson and his Dallas Carter teammates saw their season end a little more prematurely than they had hoped. The Cowboys came into this past weekend's third round Class 4A Texas state playoff game against Longview undefeated and nationally-ranked. However, the Lobos were the ones walking away with a 25-20 victory.
Carter says that he and his teammates were somewhat surprised at how talented their East Texas foe was.
"Our offense struggled to move the ball," Henderson said. "Longview loaded the line up and blitzed everybody in. They stopped our pulling, stopped our cutbacks, stopped up the holes and everything.
"We were like, 'Man, these boys are good.' They had these big old linebackers just hopping over the line and popping the running backs in the mouth. We were just like, 'I've never seen anything like this.'"
