UGA leads big for New Jersey OL after visit
Chad Simmons
UGASports.com The University of Georgia has recruited the state of New Jersey well over the past few years with signings of Kade Weston and Knowshon Moreno. They are looking into the Garden State again in 2010.
One of the biggest visitors over the weekend in Athens was out of the New Jersey and Jake Kaufman has taken a strong liking to the classic city.
"It was my first visit down to Georgia and it was an amazing visit," said Kaufman. "I have been a fan of Georgia since I was a kid, they have a great program there, they run the same offense as we do in high school, and I could definitely see myself being a Bulldog in the future."
The University of Georgia started showing interest in the 6-foot-8, 330 pound offensive tackle early in the fall. Letters started arriving, he received word he was invited to the Georgia Tech game, and he had November 29 in his mind since.
"I was so excited about coming down to Georgia for this visit and I was always looking forward to it. I started getting letters from Georgia about the first or second game of the season and they have continued to show interest since then. They sent me an invite to this game late in September and I just couldn't wait to get down there. I had invites to other games at schools like Notre Dame, West Virginia, and some others, but this is the one I was looking forward to."
