RB Holloman has record year
Running back Rob Holloman probably knew big things were possible going into his senior season at Philadelphia (Pa.) West Catholic.
The talented runner was well-established as one of the Keystone State's top talents in the offensive backfield before the year, and now he has the numbers that prove he is one of the most productive of all-time.
On the season Holloman had 125 carries for more than 1,800 yards and 39 touchdowns. The previous city record for touchdowns in a season by one player was 37.
"We're still playing, actually. We've got our semifinal game against Lancaster Catholic tomorrow," Holloman explained. "The team has been doing good. We're doing everything we need to do. We could end up leading the state in scoring."
Thus far Rhode Island is the only school to show up at Holloman's residence for an in-home visit. While the Rams do have his attention, Holloman said he is hoping to hear more from several FBS schools.
"I plan on waiting until January to set up visits. Since our season is still going on our coach didn't really want to schedule anything right now.
"I'll probably take visits to Boston College, Syracuse, NC State, Maryland and UConn," he continued.
"My favorites are Boston College, Syracuse, NC State and Villanova. That's probably it for favorites."
While undersized at 5-foot-8 and 160-pounds, several smaller backs have proven it does not take a big frame to be successful at the college level.
Holloman said Syracuse may be the closest of his favorites to offering.
