Hawkeyes set to host Indiana corner

HawkeyeReport.com After racking up eight interceptions this season, including two returned for touchdowns, cornerback Troy Smith is steadily picking up college interest. This weekend, the 5-foot-10, 175-pound Smith, who attends Pike High School in Indianapolis, will make his first official visit with a trip to Iowa City.
After Iowa, he plans to visit Cincinnati, Louisville, and Toledo in January. While none of those schools have offered a scholarship yet, that could happen soon as all of the interest is real recent. In fact, Iowa entered the picture just a week ago when recruiting coordinator Eric Johnson stopped by to talk with Moyers.
What coaches see from Smith on film is a playmaking cornerback with speed. The Indianapolis native was hand timed at 4.40 at a combine last spring and has run even faster than that in testing, according to Moyers, who says Smith has been an integral part of his team's success.
