Sinkovec still BC bound?
Mundelein (Ill.) Carmel Catholic linebacker Jake Sinkovec wasn't expecting an offer from Boston College to come in so when it did he jumped on it. That was several weeks ago and since then he has had plenty to think about with the coaching change. Is Sinkovec still on board?
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound prospect had received offers from Akron, Army, Miami-OH and Air Force before picking up his scholarship from BC and committing to the Eagles.
After he took his official visit to BC he talked things over with his family and decided that was where he wanted to spend his college years. Like some other prospects he wasn't happy to hear that who he thought would be his future head coach was fired, but he is now coming to accept the changes.
"You know, obviously it's not the best situation," Sinkovec admitted. "But I have no doubts. I don't know (Spaziani) too well but I know he's been with BC a long time and the rest of the staff is there. It's a good staff.
"I'm fine with how everything played out. Obviously it's not the best thing when the head coach gets fired but the way things played out is good. I like the results and what's going on now."
Sinkovec said he has not kept in touch with any of BC's assistants throughout the ordeal. Nonetheless, he remains solid in his pledge to the Eagles.
"I haven't been talking to anyone," he said. "My cell phone was broken. A few schools contacted my head coach -- just some who had offered previously like Akron, Air Force and Navy. It's no big deal, though."
