Wright makes his call
East Ridge High School (Clermont, Fla.) running back JeremyWright has ended his recruitment and announced he will be wearing the Black and Red of the Louisville Cardinals starting next fall. The 5-foot-9, 183-pound running back committed to Louisville head man Steve Kragthorpe and assistant coach Brent Myers at his home Tuesday night.
Wright said this season he rushed for 2,500 yards in leading the Sunshine State. He also scored 400 yards receiving and 30 total touchdowns for East Ridge, which went 10-2.
The effort scored him scholarship offers from Florida International, Iowa State, Middle Tennessee, Troy and Colorado State among others.
Wright said ending his recruiting process was a big relief and he was sold on the Cardinals by the fact they offered him the chance to play multiple positions as well as return kicks.
"It was just everything actually," Wright said when asked why he committed to the Cardinals. "Facilities, coaching, players. They had it all."
The Louisville contingent was not the only coaching staff in to see Wright today. Colorado State assistant coach Pat Meyer visited Wright at school as well as in his home.
