Set to sign: Joshua Brown

While most experts have Joshua Brown pegged for the defensive side of the football, Iowa may have other plans in mind. The Florida native spoke once again with the Iowa coaches on Monday evening and he is all set to sign his letter of intent on Wednesday morning with the Hawkeyes. We caught up with him to find out about his plans for signing day and how the Iowa coaches plan to use him on offense next season.

Q: What are your plans for signing day?

BROWN: I'm signing with Iowa in the morning. I think we are doing something at school in the auditorium.

Q: Are you excited about the day finally getting here?

BROWN: Yeah, it is finally here.

Q: Have the Iowa coaches been down to see you recently?

BROWN: Yeah, they were down here about a week ago to visit me. I just talked to them earlier today as well. The coaches say they are ready for me to come to Iowa City.

Q: Are they still talking to you about playing QB?

BROWN: Yep, a slot receiver. They also said they may go to some wildcat type formations and put me in there. I like that, if they could use me like Percy Harvin.

Q: Did any schools try to get involved with you later in the process?

BROWN: No. After I told Iowa that I was committing, I told the schools to back off.

Q: Are you doing any other sports right now?

BROWN: Yeah, I am working on track and doing some sprinting this year.

Q: Did you get to spend any time with the Iowa team while they were in Florida for the Outback Bowl?

BROWN: A little bit. I didn't go to practice, but I spent some time with Jeff Brinson while they were down there.

Q: What has Jeff told you about his experiences at Iowa?

BROWN: He says it is a great place. He loves it there.
