When Mississippi State and Auburn meet later on this afternoon there will be plenty on the line.
The two teams are currently tied for second place in the SEC Western Division with identical 7-6 records in the league. But that will all change when the ball is tipped off at 5 p.m. on Fox Sports South.
The Bulldogs have had plenty of success against Auburn at Humphrey Coliseum. MSU is 22-11 against the Tigers on its home floor including winners of the last eight. Auburn has not won at 'The Hump' since 2000. However, the Tigers do hold a 68-62 advantage in the overall series including their 91-76 win earlier this season on Feb. 14.
The Bulldogs are 17-11 overall and are averaging 75.2 points a game. State is shooting 43.6-percent from the field on the year including 36.7-percent from 3-point range and also 71-percent from the free throw line. They continue to lead the conference in blocked shots averaging 8.1 per contest and hold their opponents to just 69.1 points.
