Vols Still Rolling In Tampa
Tampa -- Tennessee began the SEC tournament with an emphatic blowout on Friday night and kept the train rolling in Saturday's semifinal round with a 94-85 win over a scrappy Auburn team. The Vols blew into the title game for the first time since 1991 with the win, but it was hardly easy.
Just as on Friday the Vols rode a scorching first half on the offensive end to a double-digit halftime lead and then hung on through a wild second half to reach the championship game.
It was a superlative effort from the Vols in a pressure-packed situation. The team got contributions from up and down the roster, placed five players in double-figures and got stepped-up performances from its two top players in Tyler Smith and Wayne Chism
