Duluth (Ga.) Northview four-star defensive tackle Denzel McCoy, recently selected to Rivals.com's Rivals250 for 2010, took an unofficial visit to Auburn last Friday.

The 6-foot-4, 275-pounder had visited several other colleges before making his trip to the Plains. Friday, though, was a little different, he said.

"I'll say this, it was a really special visit," said McCoy. "I had a great time."

McCoy, rated the No. 168 overall prospect in the 2010 class by Rivals and the No. 10 highest-ranked defensive tackle, had heard plenty about the Tigers and their new coaching staff before visiting. McCoy has an inside source.
