TCU looking at Louisiana QB
Jeremy Clark
PurpleMenace.com Neville, Louisiana dual-threat quarterback Taylor Burch may have missed the last few games of his junior season, but that hasn't stopped the signal caller from getting interest.
Burch apparently did enough in nine games in his first year as a starter to garner interest from some of the top programs in the south. The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder has two offers on the table and may be close to adding more in the near future.
"I got offers from Tulsa and Louisiana Tech," he said. "I'm getting interest from TCU, Alabama, LSU, and Ole Miss. That's the main one's showing interest. I've been to junior days at LSU, Ole Miss, Alabama and TCU.
"I'm open to every school right now."
Burch says academics are his main priority in choosing a school as well as location so his family can see him play.
"Academics is definitely the first thing," he said. "The proximity to home is next, I want my family to be able to come watch me every week. And the coaches are important too."
Burch was in Ft. Worth a few weeks ago to take in TCU's second junior day and came away impressed with what he saw.
"It was really nice," Burch said. "Everything was real traditional, it was very nice. Meeting all the coaches was the highlight, they all had different personalities, they are all really good guys. Coach Patterson is laid back a pretty cool guy."
Burch says the Frogs didn't offer while he was on his visit, but he feels an offer is in reach if he comes back from his knee injury the way the TCU staff thinks he can.
"They showed me they would offer too, they showed me my letter. But they said they weren't going to send it to me or officially offer me until they see how I come back from my knee injury."
Burch has plans to attend camps at LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, Tulsa, TCU and hopefully the Elite 11.
"Hopefully when I get over my knee I can attend the Elite 11 in Vegas."
Burch says he will try to see as many schools as possible over the summer and says he won't make any decisions until after then.
"I'm definitely going to take the visit's the places that are high on my list. Also any others that show any interest. But, I'd like to make as many visits as I can and see as many places."
