Ferguson has two schools on top
With five scholarship offers and plenty of early interest, Baltimore defensive tackle Anthony Ferguson is planning to get out and see many of the schools on his list this spring. Two weeks ago, the 6-foot-2, 255-pound Ferguson made the first of those visits with a trip to Iowa City.
Ferguson made the trip with his friend and teammate Jim Poggi, whose father, Biff, is their head coach at the Gilman School in Baltimore. Shortly after returning home, Poggi, who is a highly recruited linebacker, gave his verbal commitment to the Hawkeyes and is looking for his friend to possibly join him in Iowa City next year.
Currently, Ferguson has scholarship offers from Iowa, Penn State, Virginia, Boston College, and Duke with interest from a number of others, including several Ivy League schools. While his recruiting remains open, two programs in particular have risen to the top of his list in recent weeks in Iowa and Penn State.
Right now, Ferguson hopes to wrap up his college decision before the start of his senior season at Gilman if possible.
