Big East program looking at Dixon
Ryan Murray
CuseConfidential.com Opa Locka (FL) Monsignor Pace prospect Issac Dixon had a great season last year as he totaled 120 tackles, nine sacks, and three forced fumbles. Those numbers have schools from coast to coast watching Dixon.
Dixon, 5-foot-11, 185 pounds holds five offers from schools Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, and SEC. One of the offers that came in less than a month ago really caught Dixon by surprise.
"Syracuse offered before our spring game last Thursday," Dixon said. "It was a shocker because I really did not know about Syracuse. I was happy because Syracuse is a good school, so I got excited."
"I am still doing my research on Syracuse. I know that Jim Brown went there, but I am just doing my research now. I would say my interest in them right now is medium. I am still doing my research."
On Rivals.com Dixon is listed as a three star linebacker ranked as the 49th best in the class of 2010. The Orange are looking at him as more of a hybrid player, not just a linebacker.
"Syracuse is looking for me to play strong safety/linebacker, a rover," Dixon stated. "They like that I am fast, physical, and that I can hit."
With the new interest from Syracuse Dixon is thinking about making a trip north to see the school, but nothing has been finalized yet.
"I am going to try and make it to Syracuse for their camp."
A time for picking a school is something that Dixon has not thought of yet.
