Dawson planning summer visits
Four-star running back Andre Dawson is not going to any camps this summer, but he is planning to visit several of the schools on his list. The first trip this month for the 6-foot-1, 210-pound Dawson, who attends Cedar Rapids Washington, will be a short drive down I-380 to check out the Iowa Hawkeyes.
In addition to Iowa, Dawson holds scholarship offers from Illinois, Wisconsin, Kansas, Purdue, and Cincinnati. He is also hearing a lot from Tennessee recently as well as Iowa State and plans to visit Ames in the next few weeks. By the end of the summer, the four-star prospect would like to narrow down his list before he gets ready for official visits later this year.
Dawson, who rushed for 1,485 yards and 27 touchdowns last season, is also looking to improve this summer in preparation for his senior year. Along with strength and conditioning workouts, he will be going to 7-on-7 competitions in Minnesota and Illinois with his teammates in the coming weeks.
