Lexington, Ohio cornerback Courtney Avery made a verbal pledge to Stanford in April, but still wanted to keep his options open before Signing Day. Earlier this week, Michigan became one of those options when they offered the 5-10, 180-pound defensive back from Ohio.

Avery was scheduled to fly out to Stanford Sunday for a three-day unofficial visit, but just before leaving he decided that the new offer from Michigan was too good to pass up.
