Katy is out to defend their two consecutive 5A DII state titles.

North Shore is looking to build on their Texas state record 78 straight regular season wins.

The only thing that could make the most anticipated opening weekend matchup in the state - if not the entire country - any bigger is if the two teams had a recent history, which by no coincidence, they happen to have in spades heading into the night game this Saturday at Rhodes Stadium in Katy, Texas.
