Lyerla Continues to Pick up Offers
Few players have seen a more meteoric rise in the past few months than Hillsboro, Ore. multi-purpose athlete Colt Lyerla. After an amazing performance at the Schuman Ultimate100 in Norman late this summer, in which he stood out at running back, tight end, wide receiver and defensive end, he has seen his mailbox continue to fill up.
The 6-foot-5, 225-pound prospect has gone from little known to outside of the Great Northwest to a player receiving '15-20 letters a day'.
He currently holds offers from Oklahoma, Oregon, Oregon State, Cal, and Vanderbilt. It seems that no one is more surprised about all of the collegiate attention than Lyerla.
"I don't know if I could have imagined this. The difference between this year and last year is huge. I mean I knew that I wanted to play college football but I didn't think it would come this soon and be this big," Lyerla said.
