Texas lineman ready for first visit
Texas lineman Donavan Johnson is ready to make his first official visit this weekend with a trip to Iowa City. The 6-foot-2, 245-pound Johnson, who could play on either side of the ball in college, is taking advantage of a bye week in his schedule at Arlington's Martin High School to fly out and see the Hawkeyes host Michigan on Saturday night.
Johnson is leaving on Friday morning and making the trip with his father and a friend. It will be his first trip to the Hawkeye State to visit a program that has been showing steady interest ever since offering a scholarship back in the summer.
Along with Iowa, Johnson has been looking over offers from Nebraska, Purdue, Kansas State, Iowa State, UNLV, TCU, UTEP, and several others during the recruiting process. The three-star prospect hopes to schedule some more visits in the near future and if all goes according to plan, decide by November or December.
Rivals.com ranks Johnson as the No. 43 defensive tackle in the nation in the 2010 recruiting class
