Last season Cherokee County High School followed up an undefeated regular season with a loss in the state championship game to UMS-Wright in Alabama's 4A classification. One of the primary reasons for that success was the play of quarterback Coty Blanchard. His return as a senior along with several other key pieces has seen Cherokee County storm into the playoffs once again as one of the state's best.
