Suwanee (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge running back Brandon Davis has five offers to his credit and is interested in several other schools, as well.

"My offers are from Virginia Tech, Maryland, Duke, UCF and Vandy," the 5-foot-9, 194-pound Davis said. "I'm also interested in Notre Dame, Florida, Auburn, South Carolina, North Carolina, Boston College and Tennessee."

Davis, who has been timed as 4.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash, attended South Carolina's junior day a couple of weeks ago and liked what he saw.

"Their facilities were really nice, especially their weight room, which is incredible," he said. "I got to meet coach (Steve) Spurrier personally, and I thought he was a good guy. I also talked with coach (Shane) Beamer a lot, and he's a good guy, too. I hear their stadium is packed for every home game, and that was good to hear. Plus, they stress academics, which is important to me."
