Michigan top five for Georgia safety

With quarterbacks coach Scot Loeffler leading the charge, and now defensive line coach Steve Stripling aiding him, Michigan has found success in recent recruiting classes tapping into the talent rich state of Georgia. The Wolverines are back in the Peach State in 2008 targeting several players including a highly talented safety.

College Park (Ga.) Banneker safety Darrell Simmons stands 6-2 and weighs 194 pounds. He likens his style of play to Sean Taylor of the Washington Redskins, meaning he loves to make the big hit. Offers have come in from the likes of Oklahoma, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and Virginia Tech. Michigan joined that list this spring.
