Whitner talks Illini

Illinois signed five quality prospects out of the state of Ohio this past February, and hope to continue hitting that state hard this year. Five-foot-ten, 190-pound Mayfield (Ohio) cornerback Ashante Williams started what Illinois coaches hope turn into another strong batch of talent headed west from the Buckeye State.

A number of prospects in Ohio currently list the Illini as their favorite. One of them, 6-foot-2, 295-pound Cleveland Glenville defensive tackle Dawawn Whitner, is good friends with the already committed Williams.
