Saline, Mich. quarterback Joe Boisture is one of the fastest-rising prospects in the country, earning numerous offers over the last few weeks and attracting national interest. However, the 6-foot-6, 202-pounder has always wanted to get the process over with early and on Tuesday he decided to make his decision.

"I committed to Boston College," said Boisture. "It really came down to the comfort level there. I visited and just felt at home there and it comes down to fit. I really like coach Siravo, I like coach Tranquill's offense and the way BC recruited me."

Boisture chose the Eagles over UCLA in the end with Pitt and Cincinnati also in the mix until decision time.

"I really liked UCLA too, it was really nice out there so it came down to heading east or west," he said. "But the comfort level was higher at BC, I think there's a clearer path to playing time there and I'm excited about playing in the ACC."

BC's early interest was key to Boisture's decision.

"They were the first school to offer and that always sticks in your mind," he said. "You always feel most comfortable with the first school willing to stick their neck out and offer you. In addition to that, I like the way they develop their quarterbacks. When you look at the quarterbacks that have played there over the last 10 years or so, a lot of them went off to the NFL."

The BC coaching staff told Boisture that he reminds them of one of those successful quarterbacks.

"The Matt Ryan thing is always there too," he said. "He was the face of Boston College during his time there and he signed for $72 million and was the first quarterback taken in the draft. The coaches tell me I remind them of him coming out of high school and knowing that he was developed there, it would be great to be another Matt Ryan."

Boisture, who made the first Rivals.com 250 To Watch List for the class of 2010, has only played one season of varsity football. As a junior, he threw for 1,700 yards and 15 touchdowns in a run-oriented offense at Goodrich High School. He will play his senior year at Saline.
