McFarlane interested in the Orange
Dix Hills (N.Y.) Half Hollow Hills West athlete Devante McFarlane is one of the top prospects in New York City. These days not too many players make it out of New York without Syracuse giving them a long look.
"Yes they have been looking at me and they are highly interested in me. I'm going to their camp at Maritime in June for them to get a chance to look at me in person."
Even though Syracuse is interested they have not offered yet, but that offer could be on the way.
"They have talked about offering. Coach Anselmo wants me to go to the camp fist so he could get the head coach to look at me."
Auditioning for an offer is something that the Empire State product does not mind.
"I have no problem with it at all because they want to know what type of player there getting, once I show them I hope they like it."
As it stands right now the prospect likes what the Orange has and even though he does not have an offer at this time he can still see himself there.
"I really like Syracuse and could see myself going there and putting on the orange and blue."
Rivals.com lists McFarlane as an athlete and that is how Syracuse is looking at him.
"They want me at defensive back or wide receiver. I do like receiver more because I think it comes more natural to me, but I'm real good on both sides of the ball."
Back in early March is when McFarlane took his first visit and he loved everything that he saw.
"I went up there for Junior day. I really liked it they had a crazy atmosphere. I went to the basketball game against Villanova so it was pretty cool.
Other than Syracuse there are a bunch of schools looking at McFarlane.
"Right now I have offers from Vanderbilt, Buffalo, and Kent State. I also think Maryland Boston College Penn State and Connecticut might offer soon."
A commitment is going to come pretty quick after the summer gets going for him as he wants to decide in August.
