2015 In-Depth: Russell Ude
Though there are still 17 or so months until National Signing Day for the 2015 recruiting class, Stanford already has two verbal commits from rising junior prospects, from Georgia defensive back Arrington Farrar and Utah linebacker Christian Folau.
Farrar earned a scholarship after impressing Stanford's coaches at the Cardinal's summer camp in June, but he wasn't the only Georgia recruit from the 2015 class to leave an impression. One of Farrar's close friends, Westminster High School outside linebacker/defensive end Russell Ude, also performed well.
In the months since Stanford's camp, Ude has opened even more eyes. He won the defensive line MVP award at a Rivals regional camp, earned a four-star ranking by Rivals.com, and picked up nine BCS conference scholarship offers.
Ude has been considering Stanford as a possible college destination for some time.
"To be honest, I've kind of always been thinking about Stanford," Ude said. "I've always been a USC fan, actually, but Stanford I've always thought about as a school I would definitely be interesting in attending because it's a perfect blend of football, prestige and academics. So they've always been very high on my list when I really began to understand that I could make it far with this whole football thing. So they've always been on my radar."
