Smith drawing interest from 'Bama
Prattville (Ala.) quarterback Larry Smith is on the verge of picking up his second offer and first from the SEC. Smith, 6-foot-2, 204 pounds, continues to be recruited by some of the nation's top programs and at this point is in no hurry to name a favorite.
"Everything has been going great so far. Louisville is my only official offer, but the Vanderbilt staff called me coaches and told them they were sending a written offer on Monday, so I'm excited about that," Smith said. "Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Florida, Florida State and Georgia Tech have all been in contact and are recruiting me hard. All of them are basically tell me the same thing. They like my film and want to see a little more from me, but I think they will offer.
"I'm really enjoying the recruiting process and haven't narrowed down my favorites yet because I don't know what all my options are going to be. Until then I want to keep an open mind and just enjoy this because I'm only going to get to do it once."
Alabama and Auburn are both programs who figure to factor in Smith's final decision --if he receives offers from the in-state schools.
