Crimson Tide lands another commitment
The Alabama Crimson Tide picked up its second commitment in three days on Monday when Middleton High School cornerback Sherod Murdock committed to the Tide staff. Murdock, 6-foot, 175 pounds, was in Tuscaloosa Sunday for the Tide's one-day mini-camp but didn't make his decision known until arriving home in Tampa on Monday.
"I called Coach 'U' (Dave Ungerer) earlier this afternoon and told him I was ready to commit to Alabama. I camped there this weekend and I knew before I left that I wanted to commit, but first I wanted to come home and talk it over," Murdock said. "I've gotten real tight with Coach 'U' and I've known him since he recruited my brother [South Carolina redshirt freshman O.J. Murdock] two years ago. He's a great guy and I have been leaning to Alabama since they offered. He told me that he was glad to have me on board.
"Coach (Chris) Ball is another reason I wanted to go to Alabama. He has a strong reputation for developing defensive backs and this year he put some in the NFL. He was great this weekend at camp and he taught me a lot."
