Barnes focused on final season
Columbia, S.C., Richland Northeast four-star prospect Mark Barnes recently debuted on Rivals.com as the No. 7 wide receiver in America and the No. 44 player overall regardless of position. At this point in the summer, the 6-foot-2, 194-pound Barnes is most focused on his team's success.
"Right now, we're going through some adversity because we're tying to replace a lot of the seniors from last year's team, so it's up to us to pick the slack up. We're just trying to work harder than any other team in South Carolina, so we can be in better shape than any of the teams we face."
Individually, Barnes has some simple plans for his final season at the high school level.
"My main goal for this year as an individual is just to have fun and earn a lot of respect. I feel like if I do those two things, everything else will take care of itself."
Barnes, who turned in a strong performance at the Gainesville NIKE Camp in May, plans to make time for some unofficial visits before his season year gets underway.
