Barnes puts VT in his top three?
Virginia Tech is one of three teams apparently leading for four-star wide receiver Mark Barnes out of Columbia, S.C., Richland Northeast. The 6-foot-2, 194-pounder has the Hokies moving up fast for his services along with Louisville and South Carolina.
"I don't know if I'd like to say I have any leaders, but South Carolina, Louisville and Virginia Tech are moving up strong on my list," he said. "Basically those schools stand out because they are recruiting me all the time and never let up. I like that a lot from them."
The big news this past weekend was that five-star quarterback Tyrod Taylor committed to the Hokies. Does this situation aid Virginia Tech in landing Barnes?
"Well the fact he's there definitely makes me feel even better about them," he said. "It's nice to have someone I know there and he'd be starting out in the same situation I am. I still haven't had a chance to talk to Tyrod since he announced because too much is going on for me. I do like the opportunity presented there though."
