Vegas standout climbing the charts
There is no question that running back/safety Tim Johnson (6-2, 210, 4.4) from Las Vegas (Nev.) Del Sol is one of the Silver State's best prospects for the class of 2007.
Few players have Johnson's size and speed. He also ran track as a sophomore and competed in the 100-meter, 200-meter, the 4x100 and 4x200.
According to Johnson his fastest time in the 100 is a 10.3 and he took second on the state during his sophomore year in the 200.
Johnson didn't run track as a junior because he wanted to concentrate on football.
On the recruiting trail, Johnson has two known offers from UNLV and Arizona.
"My coach told me USC offered me," Johnson said. "Coach (Pete) Carroll's son Brennan Carroll told my coach that I have an offer from USC. This happened not too long ago."
Utah and Oklahoma are also showing recruiting interest in Johnson.
