Kabongo hopes for more Irish attention
The state of Connecticut isn't known for producing top college football talent, but the Notre Dame coaching staff figures to make a New England visit this week to check on the top prospects that can be found there.
Aside from offensive lineman Mike Golic, who committed to Notre Dame in late February, Connecticut boasts Masengo Kabongo, a 6-foot-3, 279-pound defensive tackle from Fairfield. Kabongo expects a visit from Irish assistant Ron Powlus later this week.
"As of right now, Notre Dame is telling me they want to get to know me more," Kabongo said. "They said they really like my tape and that they're really impressed."
