Jungblut taking numerous summer trips
With four offers on the table and more likely on the way, Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro defensive end Justin Jungblut is preparing for an active summer vacation.
"We finished spring ball in the middle of May. We had college coaches coming in every day to see us," Jungblut said. "Utah offered me and two days later Wyoming and Air Force offered me on the same night. My most recent offer came a week or so ago from Idaho."
The 6-foot-6, 235-pounder said he has also been attracting significant interest from Arizona, Boise State, Colorado and Oregon State. He also has been hearing that Nevada is close to offering. He said Arizona State has had shown some interest and hopes to hear even more from the Sun Devils.
"I haven't been hearing from ASU as much as I would like to," Jungblut said. "I have talked to Coach Stretz but I would like to hear more from them since they are high on my list. Air Force is also on that list they have really jumped out. I still like Oregon State, Colorado and Boise State a lot and definitely ASU."
Jungblut is preparing to make a trek to six different schools over a two week stretch.
"I [was in] Oregon State this weekend. From there I am headed to Arizona's elite camp of the 8th of June," Jungblut said. "I was originally going to head up to UNLV next weekend but I have decided to cancel that because I have probably my biggest camp on the 15th at ASU. They haven't offered me yet, so I figure that it is for the best that I rest for the ASU camp.
"Literally an hour after I leave ASU I am going to get on a plane to go to Idaho. Then on the 18th I head up to Colorado to go to Air Force for their non-contact camp which is on the 19th as well as their Junior Day which on the 20th.
I have really been building a good relationship with the coaches at Air Force since they offered me. After that I am going to head over to Boulder to go to their Big Man Camp on the 21st."
With all of those trips in short amount of time one might come to the conclusion that Jungblut is preparing to end his recruitment early. However the plan is to soak in all in and then focus on helping the Sabercats with their third consecutive title.
"I have been talking with some of my teammates at Saguaro like Corey (Adams) and the other seniors and I think with all the pressure we have to three-peat I think that the team has to come first," Jungblut. "So we aren't going to focus on a college decision until after we get the job done this year. We have got to focus because we have a big target on our back this year.
"I am not going to rush I am going to enjoy the recruiting process. Next month or so I definitely I will have a top five. Coach Sanders is going to help me out. He says that there will be at least four or five more colleges that will offer me. Our coaches probably do the best job in the state with getting us looks from colleges. That is part of the reason why we already have five players with Division 1 offers."
