Florida commit visits Athens for first time
South Georgia athlete Greg Reid committed to the University of Florida shortly after the Gators offered him a scholarship back in the spring. Since then, he has only taken visits to The Swamp, but over the weekend, the electric athlete traveled up to Athens to visit the University of Georgia.
"Georgia has a lot of good fans up there, it was pretty loud in there, and it was a nice atmosphere," said Reid. "It is like a big family up there with the players, fans, and coaches. The visit was straight."
The 5-foot-9, 175 pound Lowndes Viking had planned to visit UGA a couple of times back in the spring and summer, but those plans never worked out. These plans were somewhat last minute, but he did make it up to the classic city.
"The coaches from Georgia called me last week and invited me up to the Vanderbilt game, but I did not know if I was going to go or not. Then Michael Gilliard (Georgia commitment) called me about it, so I just went up there with him."
"I got to see Georgia and it is a nice place. I got to talk to the Georgia players I know like Vance Cuff, Neland Ball, and Israel Troupe. I also met Knowshon Moreno and talked to the coaches some. It was a fun visit and I really liked it up there."
